Dr. Alevizatos has been practicing urology in Baltimore for more than 10 years. He has served on the Surgical Quality Assurance, Cancer, and Medical Executive Committees at Good Samaritan Hospital and has served as the Physician Liaison for the Prostate Cancer Support Group. Dr. Berger has been named one of Baltimore's "Top Docs" numerous times over the past 30 years and has received recognition as one of "America's Top Physicians." He has been affiliated primarily with Sinai Hospital where he was elected president of the medical staff and served on the Sinai Hospital board of directors. Dr. Berger was appointed to the board of directors of LifeBridge Health and was the board chair of the Levindale Hospital and Geriatric Center. His clinical interests include benign and malignant diseases of the prostate, kidney and bladder, kidney stones and vasectomy.

Dr. Chrouser spent a year as a fellow with International Volunteers in Urology (IVU) traveling through eight countries, focusing on international urologic reconstruction and surgeon education. Her MPH has focused on studying the issues surrounding mass circumcision in Africa to reduce the transmission of HIV.

Dr. Chrouser has authored articles covering complications of cancer treatments and issues surrounding the management of vesicovaginal fistulas (VF) in Africa. Her other research interests include improving surgical outcomes in VF patients and developing international programs that improve surgical access, quality and efficiency in underserved areas. Her clinical focus in on general urology and urologic reconstruction, especially the repair of urethral strictures and VF.

Dr. Cohen has been in private practice for more than three decades. He was the first physician in the Mid-Atlantic area to remove a kidney stone percutaneously without a surgical incision. His current special interest is in the treatment of benign prostatic disorders.

Dr. Dietrick has volunteered for the Maryland Board of Physicians and has served on the Professional Advisory Board of the Wellness Community, surgical quality improvement teams, medical boards and executive boards at several local hospitals.

His interest in cancer treatment began in the 1980s with work at the National Cancer Institute and continued through his years on the clinical faculty of Stanford Medical Center and the Johns Hopkins University Department of Urology. He currently is affiliated with GBMC and St. Joseph Medical Center.

Specializing in diseases of the prostate, especially in daVinci robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, Dr. Dietrick also is interested in medical and minimally invasive treatments of voiding problems in men. The first urologist to perform the daVinci prostatectomy at a community hospital in Maryland, he has since performed hundreds of successful operations.

Dr. Dowling's clinical practice is based at Franklin Square Hospital Center, where he is the Section Chief of Urologic Surgery and is involved in the teaching of Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residents. Dr. Filderman is the Head of the Department of Urology at St. Agnes Hospital and the Medical Director of the Maryland Kidney Stone Center. Dr. Gordon was involved in the FDA approval process for many therapies dealing with lower urinary tract dysfunction and he sits on the U.S. advisory boards for Pfizer, Novartis and Allergen. Published in a number of peer review journals, Dr. Gordon recently released a paperback on "The Overactive Bladder and Urinary Incontinence." He lectures widely on lower urinary tract disorders and reconstructive surgery of the pelvis and his specialty interest is in voiding dysfunction.

Dr. Siegel initiated the Chesapeake Urology Scholarship Program and was a leader in establishing the Chesapeake Urology Scholar through the American Urology Association Foundation. Following his training, Dr. Smyth returned to Baltimore in 1992 to join his father, J. Walter Smyth, M.D., in private practice. During his residency, Dr. Van Zijl conducted research in interstitial cystitis in the laboratory of Dr. Toby Chai. Dr. Van Zijl practices general urology with special interests in stone disease, urologic oncology, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Dr. Zimmerman has served in the military as the Chief of Urology at U.S Public Health Service Hospital of Baltimore and was Chief of Urology at Northwest Hospital Center for 25 years. He is a member of the Baltimore City Medical Association, American Medical Association, Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association, and the American Urological Association. Dr. Zimmerman is affiliated with Northwest Hospital Center, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. His clinical interests are in adult general urology, including benign and malignant prostate conditions, stone disease and sexual dysfunction.
