We need your support to help make our 10th anniversary ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge a success!
Over the last nine years, our supporters have helped raise more than $5,000,000 to help end prostate cancer. These funds support our free prostate cancer screening program, prostate cancer research scholarship and advocacy efforts through our non-profit partner, ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer.
Chesapeake Urology’s 10th anniversary ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge event takes place on:
Sunday, September 25, 2016
7:30 a.m.; race starts at 8:30 a.m.
Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium
A fun, family friendly and community supported event, the ZPCC includes 10k and 5k races, 1 mile fun walk and 100m Kids Dash. Along with live music, free food and beverages, kid’s activities area, local celebrities and medals are awarded to all category top three winners, including a survivor winner category.
Prostate cancer survivors register for free, receive a free catered breakfast, giveaways and participate in the pre-race “Ring of Honor” tribute. Also, Nashville recording artist, Jimmy Charles, will perform his original song, “Superman,” a prostate cancer survivor’s journey put to music.
Free Prostate Cancer Screenings
The ZPCC helps fund the critically important free prostate screening program, bringing this invaluable service out to men in underserved communities throughout the greater Baltimore area. Through our free prostate cancer screening program, more than 8,000 men in the Baltimore community have received free cancer screenings, 12% were diagnosed with prostate cancers and many lives have been saved.
Early detection of prostate cancer saves lives. Chesapeake Urology physicians and staff donate over 350 volunteer hours every year at our free prostate cancer screening events for Maryland men.
Upcoming screenings include: Kingdom Life Church on Sunday, June 26 from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm and Zion Baptist Church on Saturday, August 13 from 8:30 am until 2 pm. Please encourage your family, friends and neighbors to aged 40 and over to get screened.

Funding The Chesapeake Urology Scholarship
Our scholarship through the Urology Care Foundation of the American Urological Association has been fully funded to $1,100,000 and is now permanently endowed. This money is funding important prostate cancer research. Thanks to your support, Chesapeake Urology is the only urology group in the country that has raised funds to develop and fund a scholarship like this.
