It was another sunny and beautiful September morning to celebrate prostate cancer survivors and a hope for finding a cure for this disease at the 10th anniversary Zero Prostate Cancer Challenge on September 25th. One of Chesapeake Urology's core values is giving back to the community and we are pleased to announce that this year's ZPCC - our 10th year - raised more than $520,000!
Thanks to the support of over 3,500 participants, 2,303 registered runners and walkers, more than 250 prostate cancer survivors and their families, over 400 volunteers, and 104 sponsors, we were able to surpass our fundraising goal!
The money raised at this year's event will go toward providing free prostate cancer screenings to at-risk men throughout the greater Baltimore region, as well as a new program through the American Urological Association (AUA)'s Urology Care Foundation to provide outreach to primary care physicians to help catch prostate cancer early, improving the chances of survival for men diagnosed with this disease.
Over the last nine years, our supporters have helped raise more than $3,500,000 to help end prostate cancer. These funds have supported our free prostate cancer screening program, prostate cancer research scholarship and advocacy efforts through our non-profit partner, ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer.
Thank you to all who participated in the 2016 10th annual ZPCC and for your help in finding a cure for prostate cancer!
