Working Together to Advance Prostate Cancer Research

The Urology Care Foundation and Chesapeake Urology Associates are truly grateful to all the community supporters who continue to help us make a difference in patients’ lives through research and education. We are excited to announce that proceeds from the Chesapeake Urology’s annual fundraising efforts through the ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge/Baltimore reached its milestone of raising more than $1 million this past year.

UCF LogoThese funds have enabled us to establish the Chesapeake Urology Prostate Cancer Research Scholar Award Fund, a permanent endowment to support training in prostate cancer research through the Urology Care Foundation.

The Chesapeake Urology Prostate Cancer Research Scholar Award competition opened in July 2015 to the research community.  Applications from the best and brightest researchers across the country will be reviewed this fall and the 2016 Chesapeake Urology Research Scholar announced in January of next year.

Proceeds will also go to support two novel initiatives at the American Urological Association and the Urology Care Foundation that will help to improve the quality of care and outcomes for prostate cancer patients through research and enhanced physician communication with patients.

The Urology Care Foundation is the world’s leading nonprofit urological health foundation - and the official foundation of the American Urological Association. The foundation partners with physicians, researchers, health care professionals, patients, caregivers, families and the public to support and improve the prevention, detection and treatment of urological diseases through research and education.

We look forward to you joining us once again for the Baltimore ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge on Sunday, September 20, and helping to improve patients’ lives!
