It's Personal, and here's why
2018’s ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk Baltimore (ZPCC) takes on a new and very personal significance for event founder and Chesapeake Urology's, Dr. Sanford Siegel. Dr. Siegel is facing his own battle with advanced prostate cancer, the very disease he has worked years to raise funds to end.
“Yes, it is ironic that I have prostate cancer,” says Dr. Siegel. “But if there was a cancer I was going to get that would make a difference, one that I could stand on my soapbox and really spread the word about, this was it.”
Watch Dr. Siegel's inspiring story:
"You have prostate cancer"
This serious disease can strike any man. When it does, it's emotional for the man, his family, his friends and co-workers. Each year thousands will hear the words “you have prostate cancer
"Now that I own this disease I will become even more passionate in fighting it."
- Dr. Sandy Siegel, prostate cancer survivor
The good news is, through early screenings prostate cancer is being found sooner. Through the latest research we are successfully treating this disease in more men than ever before.
