The 9th annual ZERO Prostate Cancer Challenge/Baltimore, sponsored by Chesapeake Urology, will feature Nashville singer/songwriter and Maryland native, Jimmy Charles, who will make a special guest appearance at the 2015 ZERO event. Jimmy Charles and his band will be performing his original tribute song to survivors, “Superman,” which he wrote with his lead guitarist, Daniel Gossett and prostate cancer survivor Phil Shulka.

Sanford Siegel, MD, Chesapeake Urology’s President and CEO, commented that the song “is a beautiful and emotional tribute to everyone who has or has had cancer and their families and will resonate with millions of people.  We are thrilled that Jimmy and his band are supporting the ZPCC for the second year. This special song will be a major factor in creating awareness for this disease and drive funds for research to end prostate cancer.”

Charles’ extensive work with cancer charities has resulted in his position as spokesperson for ZERO. The song is dedicated to cancer survivors and their families and to Jimmy’s father, Chuck. It also honors Gossett’s grandfather who passed away as a result of prostate cancer.  Jimmy Charles’ heartfelt music video to “Superman” debuted on CMT.com on September 1, 2015 and can also be viewed on YouTube.
