Harbhajan S. Ajrawat

Dr. Harbhajan S. Ajrawat is a board-certified urologist who specializes in general adult urology and urologic conditions affecting men including BPH/enlarged prostate, prostate cancer, stone disease, and erectile dysfunction. Prior to joining Chesapeake Urology, Dr. Ajrawat was in urology practice for four decades, caring for patients throughout the Southern Maryland region. His care philosophy has always been to treat patients as you would treat yourself.

Dr. Ajrawat received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Medical College Amritsar, Guru Nanak Dev Ji University in Amritsar, Punjab, India where he went on to achieve his post-graduate degree in general surgery. He completed a rotating internship and surgical residency at V.J. Hospital, Amritsar, Punjab, India, and his residency in general surgery and urology at the State University of New York at Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons.

Dr. Ajrawat has been published extensively in multiple urologic journals and publications and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors in his field. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the American Medical Association, Prince George’s County Medical Association, and the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the AUA. He previously served as President, Mid-Atlantic Urology Associates LLC, Medical Director, Potomac Urology, Chairman, State Advocacy Network (SAN) of AACU, and President, Indian American Urology Association (IAUA). In addition to his professional work, Dr. Ajrawat is active in philanthropy and giving back to his community as a member of AAPI Charitable Foundation supporting medical charity in India, and an active supporter of AMDAANA (Amritsar Medical & Dental Alumni Association of North America), among other charitable work.
