Dr. Nathaly François is a fellowship-trained urologist whose primary areas of focus include the medical and surgical management of kidney stone disease and robotic surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the kidney. She also practices general urology with a focus on bladder control conditions and urinary incontinence diagnosis and treatment including sacral neuromodulation. Prior to joining Chesapeake Urology, Dr. François practiced urology in Cedar Rapids, IA.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, Dr. François received her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She completed her General Surgery Internship and Urology Residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL. She went on to complete her fellowship training in Endourology and Minimally Invasive Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbia, OH. She is board-certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. François has been nominated as an Outstanding Colleague and Mentor/Educator and for the Patient Advocate Award. She is a member of the American Urological Association, the Society of Women in Urology, the Endourological Society, and several other prestigious professional groups. She has also been involved in numerous clinical research studies as a co-investigator, has presented on several urologic topics, and has contributed to published journal articles and publications.
Dr. François’ approach to working with patients is to empower them with the appropriate information needed to understand their disease process(es) while delivering compassionate care. In addition to English, Dr. François is fluent in Haitian Creole and French.
