Jeff Skinner, M.D., is a highly skilled and empathic radiation oncologist with 20 years of service as a military physician. He is committed to providing high value personalized oncologic care focused on patient healing. Dr. Skinner is an experienced leader and problem solver in diverse military operational and combat environments as well as a leader in medical education. He is a focused team player who thrives on collaboration and working as a team to provide world-class oncologic care for each patient and their family.

Prior to joining Chesapeake Urology, Dr. Skinner was a Radiation Oncologist at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He was also Chief of Military Medical Operations and a research investigator at the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute in Bethesda, MD, and Program Director of the National Capital Consortium Radiation Oncology Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. His clinical practice was focused on treating patients with prostate. lung and gynecological cancers with experience in the use of focused high dose stereotactic radiation and brachytherapy for many challenging and advanced cancers. He currently holds academic positions as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, and as Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, MD.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Skinner served as Chief, Radiation Oncology, Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH, and as a flight surgeon, in Kunsan AB in Korea, Langley AFB in Hampton, VA and was deployed to Bagdad, Iraq.

Dr. Skinner earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his radiation oncology residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy.
